"OLD GEORGETOWN"
The oldest part of Georgetown is located around Main and Church Streets. The arrival of the railway produced a new development at King and Queen Streets. “Old Georgetown” is made up of a many home styles ranging from small bungalows to large Victorian homes.
Some of the well-known streets in “Old Georgetown” are King, Mill, Queen, Albert and Union Streets.
This is a much sought after neighbourhood due to its walkability factor and being close to The GO station, parks, restaurants, Main Street Shops,Knox Presbyterian, St. George's is an Anglican parish, St. John's United Church.
The Farmer’s market is also a popular summer attraction on Saturdays from June to October. For golfers, the North Halton Golf Club is a popular private course minutes from the downtown area.
The elementary schools that service this area are Holy Cross, Centennial PS, and Harrison PS.
The secondary schools that service this area are Christ the King Secondary School & Georgetown District High School.
