GEORGETOWN (HALTON HILLS) NEIGHBOURHOODS
INTRODUCTION
Georgetown is a community in the town of Halton Hills, Ontario, Canada and is part of the Regional Municipality of Halton. It is situated on the Credit River, located approximately 60 km west of Toronto making it part of the Greater Toronto Area. Georgetown takes its name from George Kennedy, who settled in the area in 1821.
Georgetown is a town with lots of nature, rolling hills & scenic views; that make it a scenic place to live.
The town has preserved a collection of attractive Victorian and Georgian style heritage homes situated in its downtown core at Main Street and Maple Avenue. Georgetown’s quaint downtown, and tree-lined streets, offer a number of housing options. It also has an abundance of charming Edwardian and Tudor-style homes built in the early 1900s. On the edges of downtown are pockets of ranch-style bungalows and split-level homes that date back to the 1950s and 60s, as well as a mix townhouses, semi-detached and apartment buildings that were constructed in the 1970s and 80s.
Georgetown’s newer subdivisions are mainly located around the parameter of Georgetown with some infilling, but the largest community of newer homes is in the south end of town.
